Neutering

What is neutering?

You've probably heard the word 'neuter' being thrown around a lot when it comes to pets, and a lot of people seem to misunderstand it and some even say it's cruel. But what exactly is it?

"Neutering is permanent sterilization; it involves the removal of testicles in males and of the uterus and ovaries in females"

It's now a very safe operation and causes your little buddy little discomfort.

What are the benefits?

By now, after you just read what neutering is, you might be on the same boat as the people who say it's nasty and uncaring; but I can assure you as someone who's neutered my cat, the value outweighs the cost in this situation. There are so many health and behavioral benefits from neutering:

1)Eradicates the chances of prostate and testicular cancers

2) Prevents male cats from spraying, roaming, and fighting which is common for un-neutered males on heat

3) Females are unlikely to develop breast or uterine cancer

4) If you don't want kittens this is your answer!

5) Both males and females are less likely to stray, reducing chances of accidents

6) Their moods and personalities will be better - chances of becoming more friendly and less aggressive

*Thousands of unwanted cats are euthanized and killed every year due to unplanned pregnancies. Reduce these numbers by having your cat neutered!
